Pet Accidents

No matter how “trained” our four legged family members are, they go WHEN and WHERE they want to go. Citrus Carpet Cleaning specializes in pet “accidents,” and even treat pet odor FREE!

Usually the biggest mistake pet owners make is WHAT they use to clean up with. A microfiber towel/cloth is more absorbent than regular cotton or paper towels, so they work A LOT better! If you already have a machine, they are GREAT for extracting, “sucking out” the excess. HOWEVER, problems arise when the soapy/foamy carpet spot cleaners that come with them are used. Directions for how we believe the best way to clean up after a pet accident can be found by clicking in this link.

Carpet Cleaning Services Throughout Gainesville GA

Citrus Carpet Cleaning has been in business since 2004 and is happy to care for the carpets, rugs, upholstery, tile and wood floors of both our residential and commercial customers.

Citrus Carpet Cleaning is the leader in residential and commercial carpet, rug, upholstery and floor cleaning. Our professional staff will customize their approach to fit your specific needs. Additionally, our exclusive, low-moisture deep cleaning techniques and more natural, soap-free, yet effective, solution will leave your carpets looking new and typically dry within an hour or two and smell like fresh citrus!

Citrus Carpet Cleaning uses a non-soapy, non foamy cleaning solution so there’s no sticky residue. Most of the carpet cleaning problems we run into in Gainesville GA are from soapy products being used on the carpet. Carpet spot cleaners, home shampooers and other carpet cleaners almost always have a soapy consistency to them. Soap means sticky, and sticky means dark, discolored spots that won’t go away, or keep “magically” reappearing. If you think soap and shampoo is good for your carpet, the next time you shampoo your hair DON’T RINSE, and see how well that works!

Not sure if what you’ve been using is soapy or foamy? Shake up the bottle and listen for it to suds and foam up. You probably can’t see it foam up unless you take of the top because the bottles seem to always be a solid color that can’t be seen into. You can do the same thing before you purchase a spot cleaner. And it doesn’t matter if you are at a pet or specialty store. Just because they sell it doesn’t mean it works. Again, SHAKE IT UP before you buy it. If you hear it, or feel it foam up it is going to cause problems. We call it the SHAKE TEST and it can be used for carpet spot cleaners or other products that came with a home carpet cleaning unit. The principle is the same.

What Type Of Carpet Cleaning Service Do You Need?

The IMPORTANT thing is to have you carpets cleaned. Carpet is the largest air filter in the home and is often overlooked, especially when it comes to indoor air quality (IAQ).

People tend to change their HVAC filters several times a year, but don’t think about the carpet. Carpets should be cleaned REGULARLY. Sadly, most people only get their carpet cleaned when they see spots.

There are SERVERAL different types of carpet cleaning. The oldest, which is hot water extraction, most often referred to as “steam cleaning.” There is “shampooing,” which is a lot like steam cleaning. Encapsulation works by applying a liquid or foam detergent to your carpet that crystalizes into a vacuumable powder as it dries. Bonnet cleaning, which is a form of low-moisture cleaning also known as VLM. And there is dry cleaning, which is similar to encapsulation cleaning.

We believe using the least amount of water WITHOUT soaps and detergents is the BEST way to clean carpet. It only takes 24 to 48 hours for mold and mildew to start growing. If’ the carpet, backing, carpet pad and potentially subfloor have all been soaked, it can take DAYS for the carpet to dry. The faster your carpet dries, the better. Carpet is typically glued to the backing, and what is the “enemy” of glue? Soap and water.

Our low moisture carpet cleaning process usually dries within an hour or two. Our final step of our 3-step cleaning process is vacuuming and a lot of moisture would ruin the vacuum. If you have heavily soiled areas and/or spots, we will use more cleaner, as needed, so those areas will take a little longer to dry.

Gainesville Carpet Cleaning Common Questions and FAQs

Carpet is the largest air filter in the house and should be cleaned a MINIMUM of once a year.

Cleaning them more often could be advantageous if there are 4 legged family members in the house.

If anyone in the home has allergies or asthma, cleaning the carpets more often could be very helpful!

A lot of pet stores and the like will recommend enzymes to address odor. While they CAN work, we recommend using a disinfectant of some kind. Disinfectants kill germs, bacteria, viruses and odors. If you can find one with eucalyptus, that’s even better. So AFTER you’ve gotten up what you can of the visual spot. Spray it with disinfectant and let it dry. Most disinfectants state “stay wet for 10 minutes.” Always follow labels on products you buy.

We DO NOT charge extra for odor treatment because Citrus Carpet Cleaning doesn’t think pet owners should be penalized for having four-legged family members. It is also VERY likely the urine is down in the backing, padding (which is very much a sponge) AND the sub floor. So unless you pull the carpet back, replace or treat the backing, padding and sub floor there IS a chance you will smell will return.

Our pricing structure is simple, straightforward and HONEST—
NO PER SPOT FEES!
NO UP-SELLS!
NO HIDDEN CHARGES, EVER!!!

We have an EXACT-imate pricing guarantee. If you are asked to pay more than your EXACT-imate your carpet cleaning is FREE!

Unfortunately, more often than not in the carpet cleaning industry the coupon is to get you to call, so they can get in the door and really “make their money.”

We provide our clients with honest, upfront  flat-rate price. Our prices are all-inclusive and make it easy to know EXACLTY what your carpet cleaning costs will be. Our prices never change from the time you book your services to the time we arrive and include all spot removal, pre-treatments, deep cleaning.

Your EXACT-imate is based on payment being made by cash or check. If you pay by credit or debit card, unfortunately there is a 9% charge. 6% for the new “App Tax law” and 3% for what the credit card company charges us to run/accept credit/debit cards.

FIRST, you don’t want high pressure sales, nor up-sells, or things you don’t want or need. We should expect to pay what we are quoted. That’s why we took the time to call in the first place. And if we didn’t care about cost we wouldn’t ask. But if you’re going to ask, ALWAYS follow up when you’re given a quote with, “Can I make the check out before you get here?” and wait.

After you get an answer, you can ask, "Is there a trip or fuel charge? Do you charge extra for spots? Are there any other charges or fees I should be aware of?"

SECOND, do not, I repeat DO NOT, expect for MOST carpet cleaners to honor their “coupons.”

Unfortunately, more often than not in the carpet cleaning industry the coupon is to get you to call, so they can get in the door and really “make their money.”

And finally, once they arrive, walk them through your home and tell them, "I was quoted ____ and I am going make out the check BEFORE you start."

These are probably the best things you can do to avoid getting ripped off.

Citrus Carpet Cleaning Pricing

We DO NOT Up-Sell! We DO NOT charge extra for spots! There are NO trip/fuel charges.
